All that glitters…IS gold, when it comes to the Hollywood stars. Many celebrities hold high connections with luxury design houses. The leading ladies are setting trends and bringing forward the most iconic looks. Most recently, Kim Kardashian curated a whole collection for Dolce & Gabbana. That was the first time the D&G design house ever let someone collaborate with them. Everything from celebrity engagement rings, to the dazzling red carpet looks, celebrities never disappoint when it comes to fashion & jewelry. Some of the most iconic jewelry moments for example; The Taylor-Burton Diamond, Celine Dion wearing the Chanel star necklace in the 70’s, Lady Gaga in the Tiffany diamond in 2019! Not only is celebrity style, fashion and jewelry memorable, but what the celebs SAY about it all is too. Let’s dive in, with two of the most fabulous ladies.
“My mother said I didn’t open my eyes for 8 days after I was born, but when I did, the first thing I saw was an engagement ring. I was hooked” -Elizabeth Taylor
When it comes to Hollywood and jewelry, there is no one better to start this post off with, than Elizabeth Taylor. It is said she had the finest jewelry collection in America. When her pieces first went to auction a few years ago, a world-record was set, selling $119 million in one night. She even wrote a book titled “Elizabeth Taylor: My Love Affair with Jewelry” which has descriptions of pieces in her collection, and detailing why they were important to her.

“I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number you get in a diamond.” -Mae West
In 1935 Mae West was one of the highest paid women in America. She was an idolized singer, actress, comedian, playwright, and screenwriter. Her collection of jewels was mostly art deco style, with a mix of Victorian pieces. When World War II started, she was one of the first celebrities to make a public contribution to the war. She did so by donating a large portion of her jewelry collection. It is rumored most of her donation went to the Royal Air Force who named their life vests the Mae Wests.
